Welcome to a special page showcasing for a limited time art and animation from two passionate amateur creators—Christopher Bloodworth, the creative director of Sliding Shelf Press, and his talented 14-year-old niece, Claire Mitchell. This portfolio is in support of their application for the S&S Open Map Call.

“Riding Lessons”, 2022.

Untitled, 2021. An animation test for a bigger concept. Too big to actually make, as it turned out.

“Poop Pong”, 2021. A silly animation I did to make my nieces and nephews laugh that took way too long to make.

“Waiting it Out”, 2015. Earthbound is one of my absolute favorite games. This got a lot of love on Tumblr… back when Tumblr was still relevant :)

“Everybody Love Peppy”, 2015. Unlike my Earthbound live comic, this one never quite got the love I felt it deserved. I was very inspired by the way Zac Gorman would make comics that took the worlds of our favorite video games and imagined them as real places where silly interactions like this might be possible.

“Can You Break a Silver?”, 2015. Stole the design of Link from Zac Gorman, but the idea and execution were original at least. Not sure if the humor holds up though.

2013. This is so old. Haha my first attempt at sprite animation back when I wanted to make a video game.

Untitled, 2022. Fun fact, this silly animation made my son cry. So, uh, trigger waring for violence, I guess.
